The South Asian University Hostels provide affordable accommodation and mess facilities to students from different backgrounds. The university offers on-campus housing for both master’s and doctoral students. The hostel’s rooms are large and spacious, and frequent cleaning is provided. The well-maintained building and the adjacent lawns enhance the overall charm.

The hostel residence offers around 400 units of partially furnished shared accommodation in six different towers. There are several common areas, such as study rooms, common rooms, and multipurpose rooms

We also have recreational areas such as a lounge for gatherings, a fitness centre for workouts, and playgrounds. Admitted students’ spouses/children or other family members are not provided with hostel accommodations. All students who stay in the hostel must strictly adhere to the hostel rules. The hostel fee for students from the SAARC region is US $60 per academic semester. Students must vacate the hostel as soon as their programme is completed and/or they are unable to continue their studies. During the summer and winter vacations, master’s students must vacate their accommodations. According to the University Regulations, doctoral students will be provided with hostel facilities for a maximum of five years.

The hostel facilities at SAU are limited, and allocation is strictly subject to availability. If hostel accommodations are not available, students must make their own arrangements. SAU will not provide any compensation in lieu of hostel accommodation under any circumstances for the duration of a student’s enrolment in the programme.

The South Asian University Hostel experience is an integral part of the student’s learning experience. It provides its students with an excellent landscape that fosters both academic and personal growth.

The active hostel community and the rich cultural diversity are the cornerstones of the fantastic life found in South Asian university hostels. The cultural events organized within the hostel premises are a highlight of the academic year.

These occasions, which range from vibrant festivals to exciting talent performances, allow students to appreciate diversity and display their talents. As students unite to celebrate one another’s cultures and customs, these events cultivate a genuinely heartwarming feeling of community.

Additionally, the SAU hostel life cultivates a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration. Be it late-night study sessions or impromptu gatherings in the common areas, there is always a profound sense of belonging and mutual support among fellow students.

This sense of community transcends academic pursuits, enriching the holistic learning experience.
