Binoy Goswami received PhD (2013) degree in Economics from Gauhati University. He has about 17 years of teaching and research experience. Prior to joining South Asian University, he taught at the Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University. He has also been a visiting faculty at Centre for Economic Studies and Policies, Central University of South Bihar. His research interests include agricultural economics, environmental economics, energy economics and institutional economics. He was awarded the Prof. M. J. Manohar Rao Award for the year 2012 for the best paper presented by a young economist during the 49th Annual Conference of The Indian Econometric Society. He has been nominated as an expert on agriculture and rural development by the Centre for Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific [CIRDAP].
